We'll Take Care of It
Nobody wants their house opened up. Here is the honest version of what happens.
Two to Three Days
That is the plumbing on most Las Vegas homes, start to finish.
You Stay in Your House
The water is only off for part of it, and we shut it down in stages rather than all at once.
Small Access Points
Not torn-out walls. Usually six to a dozen openings depending on the layout.
We Pull the Permit
Filed and inspection scheduled, so the work is documented when you sell.
The Old Pipe Leaves With Us
You do not deal with any of it.
One Number in Writing
Before we start, from the person who is actually doing the work.
Local Company or National Repipe Chain
A repipe is one of the larger numbers a homeowner runs into, and the quotes you get will vary more than you expect. Price is the easy thing to compare. These are the harder ones, and they are worth asking whoever you call.
Ask these of whoever you call, including us. We are not the cheapest quote you will get, and we will not pretend to be.
Reviews
We take pride in our customer service and workmanship. Don’t take our word for it, take a look.
Not Sure About a Quote You Were Given?
We Will Take a Look
Plumbing problems often come with a number attached, and it is usually bigger than you expected. If you are sitting with an estimate and have no way to know whether it is reasonable, we are glad to come look at it.
✓
There is no charge for it.
✓
If the quote you got was fair, we will tell you that.
✓
There is no obligation.
✓
If you need less than you were told, we will tell you that too.
Big plumbing decisions are stressful, and most people have no reason to know what a repipe or a sewer replacement should cost. Having a second set of eyes on it should not cost you anything.
Signs You Need Repiping Services, Not Just a Repair
You are probably looking at a repipe if several of these are true at once:
Repeat leaks. Two or three pinholes in a year means the rest of the pipe is the same age and the same condition
Low water pressure throughout the house, not just at one fixture
Rusty, brown, or discolored water, especially first thing in the morning
Visible corrosion on exposed pipe in the garage, attic, or under sinks
Pipe 40 years old or more that has never been touched
Polybutylene pipe, which fails without warning
You are selling, and an inspector flagged the plumbing
One leak is a repair. A pattern of leaks is a system telling you something.
PEX vs Copper
What we usually suggest. PEX for most homes here, because hard water is what wears out pipe in this valley and PEX is not affected by it. If you would rather have copper, we install copper. It is your house, and we will quote either one.
Partial, Whole House, or the Water Line
Not every house needs everything replaced, and these are three different jobs that often get called the same thing.
Whole house repiping. Every supply line replaced, main shutoff to fixtures. The right call when the pipe is uniformly old or the material has failed.
Partial repiping. One section, one run, or one wing of the house. Works when the problem is genuinely isolated and the rest of the system is sound.
Water line replacement. The single line running from your meter to the house. This is not a repipe, it is one buried run, and it is a separate job with its own excavation. Plenty of homes need this and nothing else.
We tell you which one you are looking at. If a partial does the job, we say so.
Do You Need a Full House Repiping or Just a Leak Repair?
A repair is probably enough when:
It is your first leak
The pipe is copper, under 30 years old, and otherwise in good shape
The problem is one isolated run
Repiping makes more sense when:
You have had several leaks in a short window
The pipe is polybutylene
The pipe is galvanized and pressure is dropping
Repair costs are stacking up toward the price of doing it once
We will tell you which one you are looking at. If a repair holds, that is what we quote.
Areas we service
We cover the whole Las Vegas Valley, from Summerlin to Boulder City and everywhere in between. Our office is on East Charleston, so we're usually on the central and eastern side, but we're out across the valley every day. Not sure if we reach you? Give us a call.
What Pipe Is in Your Vegas Home, and When It Was Put There
Las Vegas built out in waves, and each one left behind a different problem. You can usually narrow down what is in your walls by when your house was built.
-
Downtown, Huntridge, John S. Park, Scotch 80s, Charleston Heights, Twin Lakes, Rancho Oakey. Galvanized steel supply lines, often still original. Galvanized rusts from the inside out, closing off the opening and dropping pressure years before it ever leaks. If your pressure has slowly gone and the house is from this era, that is usually why.
-
Sunrise Manor, Winchester, Paradise, East Las Vegas, Whitney. Mostly copper, now four to six decades into hard water. This is the housing stock where we see the most pinhole leaks.
-
Polybutylene. Gray plastic pipe, usually half-inch or inch, often stamped PB2110. It degrades from the inside where nobody can see it and then fails suddenly rather than seeping first. If your home is from this window and still has original supply lines, it is worth having someone look before it decides for you.
-
Summerlin, Green Valley, Enterprise, Southern Highlands, Mountain's Edge. Newer materials and generally fine, but slab-on-grade construction throughout, which is why slab leaks turn up in newer Las Vegas homes rather than old ones.
Not sure which you have? We can usually tell you in a few minutes from the exposed pipe in the garage or under a sink.
Repiping faqs
-
We quote flat, after we have walked the house. Here is what moves the number, so you can read any quote you get with better eyes:
Square footage and number of bathrooms. More fixtures means more pipe
One story or two. Two-story homes are more work
PEX or copper. Copper costs more in material and in labor
Slab or crawl space routing
How accessible the runs are. An open attic is easier than a tight one
How much drywall has to come out
Partial or whole house
Why quotes differ so much. Two numbers on the same house can be thousands apart and both be honest, usually because one includes drywall patching and the permit and the other does not. When you compare quotes, compare what is in them.
-
Usually because they cover different things. One may include the permit and drywall patching and another may not. When you compare quotes, compare what is in them rather than just the total.
-
Two to three days for the plumbing on most Las Vegas homes, plus about a day for drywall patching and texture. You can stay in the house and the water is only off for part of it.
-
For most homes here, PEX. Our hard water is what wears out copper over time, and PEX is not affected by it. Copper still has a longer proven lifespan in ideal conditions, and we install it if that is what you want.
-
Repiping replaces the supply lines running through the house. Water line replacement is the single buried run between your meter and the house. Different jobs, different work, and plenty of homes need one and not the other.
-
Yes. In Clark County repiping is permitted work. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection as part of the job.
-
Gray plastic, usually half-inch or inch, often stamped PB2110. It shows up in Las Vegas homes built roughly 1978 through 1995. If you are not sure, we can tell you in a few minutes.
-
Yes. If the problem is one section or one run, a partial repipe may be all you need.
-
No. Most people stay. We shut the water off in stages so you are not without it for the whole job.
