What Is Hydro Jetting?

Hydro jetting is drain and sewer cleaning that uses high-pressure water instead of a mechanical cable. We feed a hose into the line and a specialized nozzle sprays water forward to break up the blockage and backward to scour the pipe wall as the hose pulls through.

The difference matters. A snake makes a hole through a clog. Jetting removes the buildup that caused it.

Signs Your Line Needs Jetting

  • The same drain clogs again a few weeks after every snaking

  • Several fixtures backing up at the same time

  • Grease buildup, especially kitchen and restaurant lines

  • Roots in the sewer line

  • Slow drains across the house rather than at one fixture

  • Scale buildup from years of hard water

  • You are on a maintenance schedule for a commercial kitchen

If you are calling about the same drain every few months, snaking is treating the symptom.

Not Sure About a Quote You Were Given?

If you need less than you were told, we will tell you that too.

Big plumbing decisions are stressful, and most people have no reason to know what a repipe or a sewer replacement should cost. Having a second set of eyes on it should not cost you anything.

The image shows the screen of a black electronic device, possibly a monitor or a camera, with a reflective surface displaying a faint outdoor scene. There are various control buttons below the screen, including REC, PLAY, MENU/EXIT, POWER, and TF CARD. The device is situated on a black surface with visible dirt and debris, and a yellow object is partially visible in the bottom left corner. The top right corner of the screen has a red warning sticker in English and Chinese stating, 'There is a layer of protective film'.

Why We Run a Camera First

Every jetting job starts with a camera down the line, because jetting the wrong pipe can damage it.

Here is what we are checking:

  1. Pipe material and condition. Cast iron and clay handle pressure very differently than PVC

  2. Existing cracks, fractures, or separated joints

  3. Bellies, which jetting will not fix no matter how many times it is done

  4. What the blockage actually is, since grease, roots, and scale respond differently

  5. Where the problem is and how far down the line

What Hydro Jetting Removes

  • Grease and fats, the most common kitchen line problem

  • Mineral scale, which builds steadily in our hard water

  • Tree roots, light to moderate intrusion

  • Soap scum and hair in bathroom lines

  • Food waste and sludge

  • Paper products and wipes, including the ones labeled flushable

  • Rust and corrosion buildup on older pipe

What does the process of hydro jetting look like?

When Hydro Jetting Is the Wrong Call

We would rather tell you no than damage your line.

We will not jet when:

  • The pipe is brittle, badly corroded, or already cracked. High pressure can collapse it, which turns a cleaning into an excavation

  • The camera shows a belly. The pooling comes right back, because the slope is the problem

  • The pipe has already partially collapsed

  • The problem is structural rather than a blockage

If the camera shows any of that, we stop, show you what we found, and talk about what would actually fix it.
